What do I do after a power surge hits my computer.?
I woke up early this morning with a blinding flash and a earthquake. A lightning bolt had struck right outside my home and blew a transformer on the pole. My Computer was on at the time and had been turned off without power for about 4-5 hours. I have now turned on my computer and the USB mouse, USB keyboard, and USB headset and the Internet is now not working on my desktop at all. I tried replugging everything in and rebooting the computer, still not working. Are my devices fried or is there a way to fix it? I did have a surge protector protecting everything too. Does something need reset? Thanks
If your computer is still under warranty I would take it into the store where you bought it and have a tech run a diagnostic on it. You may have to get it replaced.
